Mesa’s Asian District

Mesa’s Asian District has grown organically, with the main core of Asian businesses located along Dobson Road between Main Street and Broadway Road. Additionally, clusters of Asian businesses can be found near Mesa Community College on Southern Road near Dobson, and in Three Fountains Plaza on Longmore Road, close to the former Fiesta Mall.

Many visitors drive more than 30 minutes or more just to experience the unique dining and shopping options, attend events, and interact with the murals.

Creating the Brand

Mesa, Arizona, is a diverse community with a proud history of welcoming people of different cultures, ethnicities, religions, and regions of the world. The City of Mesa launched a branding initiative for the Asian District in 2019, with a goal to revitalize west Mesa by increasing awareness of ethnic shops, growing the sales tax base, and engaging the community. The logo features a colorful square comprised of the tangram pieces, symbolic of the different Asian cultures coming together in a unified community while maintaining the individuality of each culture. It’s featured on street signage, utility wraps, banners, and window clings promoting the Asian District Mesa AZ.
