Mesa Redevelopment Program
The City of Mesa offers a variety of redevelopment incentives and programs designed to support property owners, businesses, and developers investing in the community.
Whether you are renovating a building, opening a business, or addressing challenges that may be affecting a project, these programs are intended to connect applicants with resources that can help support redevelopment efforts.
These programs are under development and will be available Fall 2026.
Reuse Ready
The Reuse Ready Incentive helps property owners and businesses prepare vacant commercial spaces for new tenants. Financial assistance is available for eligible life safety, accessibility, structural, and code-related improvements that are needed before a space can be occupied.
Code Compliance Revitalization Grant
The Code Compliance Revitalization Grant helps property owners correct exterior property conditions that have fallen into disrepair or are contributing to blight. Financial assistance is available for eligible exterior improvements that improve the appearance, safety, and condition of commercial properties.
Demolition & Remediation
The Demolition & Remediation Incentive helps property owners remove unsafe or obsolete buildings and address site conditions that prevent redevelopment. Financial assistance is available to demolish hazardous structures, complete environmental remediation, and prepare a property for future investment.
Strategic Acquisition & Analysis
The Strategic Acquisition & Analysis Program evaluates properties that have the potential to support redevelopment and economic growth. The City uses this tool to identify strategic investment opportunities, complete feasibility studies, and determine where public investment can encourage private redevelopment.
Public Infrastructure
The Public Infrastructure Incentive helps offset the cost of eligible public utility and infrastructure improvements needed to support redevelopment projects. Financial assistance may be available for improvements such as water, wastewater, electric, gas, and other public infrastructure that are necessary for a project to move forward.
