Business Export Assistance Program (BEAP)

The City of Mesa’s Business Export Assistance Program (BEAP) helps eligible small and medium-sized Mesa companies start or grow international sales.
Qualified businesses may be reimbursed for up to 50% of pre-approved eligible export business development expenses, including export training, trade show participation, sales missions, and international partner-matching services.
Funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses must apply before the proposed export activity begins.
Eligible Activities
BEAP may reimburse up to 50% of pre-approved eligible expenses related to:
- Export training programs
- Trade show registration and participation
- Sales missions
- International partner-matching services, including U.S. Commercial Service programs such as International Partner Search and Gold Key Service
- Other export-related programs or training sessions, subject to review
Who Should Apply
Your business may be eligible if it:
- Is headquartered in Mesa, Arizona
- Holds a current Mesa General Business License, unless exempt
- Has annual sales of $25 million or less
- Is seeking to begin, increase, or expand international sales
- Can submit the application at least 30 days before the proposed export activity begins
Before You Apply
BEAP is a pre-approval reimbursement program. Businesses must submit their application at least 30 days before the proposed export activity begins.
Before applying, gather:
- Details about the proposed export activity, including program, event, or service description
- Dates, location, and provider information
- Estimated costs and requested reimbursement amount
- Documentation showing activity fees and dates
- A brief plan for how your company will co-promote the City of Mesa
Applications must be typed and submitted in PDF format. Funding is limited, and submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
